My Momma says music saved my life. Depression and darkness had a vice grip on me when I was growing up. Writing, recording, and performing gave me something to focus on, which worked as therapy. I'm a believer in the power of it. That's why I pass it on. After graduating from UNT in '05, I began teaching music at an elementary school
My Momma says music saved my life. Depression and darkness had a vice grip on me when I was growing up. Writing, recording, and performing gave me something to focus on, which worked as therapy. I'm a believer in the power of it. That's why I pass it on. After graduating from UNT in '05, I began teaching music at an elementary school. Giving back and inspiring is important to me. I need meaning. I need to feel worth something. I need to feel like I'm contributing to the betterment of what's to come. My why is to affect the world in a positive way through music.
On November 10th, 2016, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. After distracting myself with work, intimate explorations, and partying, I finally got to the point where I could move forward. We all process differently, especially with heavy news. Needless to say, it changed my life and altered the way I see. There's no way to gauge
On November 10th, 2016, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. After distracting myself with work, intimate explorations, and partying, I finally got to the point where I could move forward. We all process differently, especially with heavy news. Needless to say, it changed my life and altered the way I see. There's no way to gauge when or if my health will decline, so I push myself to live full. I don't put things off anymore. If I wanna do something, I go do it. Buying a Harley was a giant step in that direction. Her name is Michelle Sierra - she's been good to me so far. Riding is now something I need regularly to feel fulfilled.
People called me crazy for doing this. Packed up 2 acoustic guitars, merch, a suitcase, and an ice chest in my car. By myself, I traveled over 26,000 miles across 14 states and performed over 135 times in homes, venues, and all kindsa other spots. Wild, inspirational, shocking, awesome, scary things happened to me. The idea is simple.

You invite your friends & family over for a musical story-telling experience. I'm able to continue these tours with the generosity of your support through tipping and merch sales.
Grades Of Absolute Truth text logo, MicBulb logo, GOAT head logo, Diagnosed candle logo, and bass clef all incorporated in a traditional bandana design printed in orange ink on a light grey bandana.
ORANGE LINE items were specifically designed to fundraise for the Diagnosed album.
Some of Griffith's poems read like songs, others like autobiographical stories, a few like confessions, several like epiphanies of the soul. Intertwining the dark & light, victory & defeat, addiction & freedom, passion & heartbreak. Balancing deep and brainy, without being incomprehensible. Past Presents Future is a collection of three eras - what was, what is, and what will be. Entries are accompanied by powerful imagery - B&W photos from Justin and a few of his favorite photographers.
Throughout my journey with accepting my diagnosis, I’ve been writing. I’ve managed to painfully rip out words and ugly truths about myself that have all evolved into 10 songs. I have 27 pages of typed lyrics that you need to hear. I have 27 pages of lyrics that I need to let go of. I’ve been afraid to pull the trigger on this project for several reasons, but it’s time to start working. I believe in this. I feel strongly that this collection of songs needs to be heard by the world.
If you believe in what I do, please consider donating toward my goal of $10,000. To give this independent project its best chance, that’s the bottom line. That budget accounts for recording, mixing, mastering, photography, artwork, presentation, digital distribution, pressing to vinyl, production for 2 videos, a PR campaign, and a base to begin promotion.
You may also make a donation by purchasing merchandise from my ORANGE LINE. Check out the gear HERE.
