A studio in my home was a childhood dream.  I've had recording set-ups since high school, but wanted a legitimately sound-controlled space.  After saving money for a decade, I spent all of it in two weeks to purchase a loft, in what became the most popular neighborhood in Dallas.  Remodeling came first - everything got done except the lab.  I needed more time to save up and plan.  Over the next year, I researched soundproofing and treatment.  From the day we pulled the trigger on framing to the 1st session I had was a year.

Making the decision to allow other businesses to help carry out your vision is tough.  People's inability to meet deadlines has been my main frustration in the past.  Because of that, I began to acquire skills outside of just being an artist.  That's what being independent is all about.  My intention with offering services is not primarily to make money.  It's to lend a hand.  Although my time is valuable, just as yours is, prices are kept fair and reasonable.
